Practicing
yoga is a great way to detox your body. Using a series of specific asanas and
deep breathing techniques can help trigger your purification system
The
body wants, and knows how to remove impurities, although we generally intake
more toxins than it can remove on a daily basis. Failure to eliminate the
pollutants from our systems can cause us to feel tired, bloated and unfocused.
Your
yoga practice can easily become your detoxification practice. Yoga increases
the rate at which your lymph and blood transport through the body, releasing
toxins more effectively. Healthy abdominal compression along with mindful
twisting and stretching can stimulate your digestive juices. The calmness and
restorative effects of yoga help turn off the autonomic nervous system and turn
on the more healing and nurturing parasympathic nervous system.
Breathing
exercises alone or in combination with the poses and postures help boost energy
levels. As increased amounts of oxygen enter the body and more space becomes
available for the oxygen, prana,
(life force energy) is released. The more you detox the cleaner and
clearer the energy channels become. The results…. an abundance of physical and
mental energy and a wholehearted and joyous approach to life.
